Renowned American economist Dr. Art Laffer leads a lunchtime discussion looking at international economic and fiscal trends. Laffer will examine what is driving governments to increase excise taxes and the impact of these increases on government revenue, consumer demand and private sector growth.
Recognized by Time Magazine in 1999 as one of “The Great Minds of the Century,” Laffer is best known for the Laffer curve, an illustration of the theory that there exists a tax rate between 0% and 100% that will result in maximum tax revenue for governments.
The event will start with a lunch and Professor Laffer will start speaking at 12.30pm sharp. There will be an opportunity for Q&A and the event will finish at 1.30pm promptly.
