The IEA is pleased to announce the 2011 Beesley Lectures

Speaker: Jonathan Djangoly, Parliamentary Under Secretary of State, Ministry of Justice
Respondent: Nicholas Green QC, Brick Court Chambers
Chair: David Edwards, Chair, Legal Services Board

How will changes to the ownership and management of law firms in the Legal Services Act 2007 affect the industry? This lecture will examine the implications of Alternative Business Structures for growth and competition in the industry, and discuss how these will be regulated.

The Beesley Lectures are a series of eight annual lectures covering regulated industries in the UK. Now in their twentieth year, the lectures are held in memory of Professor Michael Beesley, who was a leading architect of the British system of utility regulation and a Managing Trustee of the Institute of Economic Affairs.
