“Catch-up” growth unlikely in 2014

To what extent will the UK maintain its recent pace of economic growth in 2014? Will households start to feel better off?

Economic growth will be maintained at current levels or above over the next year and households in general will start to feel better off as there are unlikely to be any tax increases. However, we will not experience the “catch-up” growth that would be desirable and significantly increase household’s disposable income unless house prices and rents fall significantly.
