A triple lock on pensions is unaffordable and irresponsible

The IEA commented on David Cameron's announcement that the state pension would continue to rise by at least 2.5% a year until 2020 if the Conservatives win the next election. Research by Gabriel Sahlgren has shown the current system to be unsustainable for future generations and that the government should instead be linking retirement age to life expectancy from 2023 onwards.
