British planning laws are the most restrictive in Europe

Mark Littlewood speaks to BBC Radio 5 Live

Mark Littlewood discussed the government’s plans to modernise planning laws on BBC Radio 5 Live

He explained how Britain’s planning permission laws are amongst the most restrictive in Europe, and welcomed the liberalisation of planning laws.

He argued that the current system prevents young people from developing their houses as they want to. This has resulted in too much regulation which protects those who already own property and are affluent enough to move and also creates unnecessary levels of bureaucracy which prevent individuals from amending their homes for their own satisfaction.
