Mark Littlewood is quoted in City AM discussing the falling migration numbers released by the Office of National Statistics (ONS).
The report stated the number of migrants entering the country fell from 581,000 to 500,000 in 2012, a decline of 14%. The news implies that the government is on track to meet their pledge to reduce net migration to below 100,000 by 2015. IEA's director general Mark Littlewood disagrees with this policy. "Capping economic migrants is a grave mistake. Universities in particular are being hit hard. Freedom of movement is a vital engine for economic growth."
