Mark Littlewood appeared on The Daily Politics today in response to negative comments from Ed Vaizey MP following suggestions that the Department for Culture, Media and Sport (DCMS) should be abolished.
"What infuriated me about what Ed Vaizey said is that the IEA pamphlet he was referring to exists only in his head. We are in favour of abolishing the DCMS. At no stage have we said this would cure the deficit, far from it. It is nickel and dime stuff but to be honest I think most IEA people would favour shutting down the DCMS even if we were running a colossal surplus," argued Mr Littlewood.
Regarding the argument that the Government should be supporting creative industries Mr Littlewood went on to state that the markets should decide what industries should be supported and not Ed Vaizey.
