Economic benefits offset by HS2's tax bill

Richard Wellings appears on the BBC 6 o'clock news

Dr Richard Wellings, Deputy Editorial Director at the IEA, appears on the BBC 6 o'clock news to discuss Sir David Higgins' review of the HS2 project. Higgin's announced that the project should be accelerated so that people in the Midlands and the North can begin to feel the economic benefits as soon as possible. In his interview, Richard argues that the economic benefits are likely to be offset by the large tax bill required to pay for HS2.
