Government should consider a radical shift in pension policy

The IEA is quoted in The Guardian

The IEA were quoted in The Guardian welcoming a potential privitisation of the state pension service. This is a rumoured policy from the Department of Work and Pensions in attempt to search for savings due to budget cuts. The IEA argues that the current state pension crowds out personal savings and incentivises early retirement. The current state pension liability is expected to rapidly increase due to the burden of an increasing population.
