Government should not restrict HMRC employees' future

Mark Littlewood appears on BBC Radio 4

Mark Littlewood appeared on BBC Radio 4 PM to discuss whether high level government employees should be restricted against working for the private sector.

Mr Littlewood argued against enacting legislation restricting government employees moving to the private sector. Discussing former HMRC chief David Hartnett's move to Deloitte, Mr Littlewood stated that this move is not a conflict of interest and is unremarkable in other sectors such as journalism. If you put extraodinary restrictions on HRMC employees, than it will make it very hard for HRMC to recruit top level staff.
