HS2 is a deluded plan

Richard Wellings talks to The Voice of Russia

Dr Richard Wellings told the Voice of Russia that HS2 will be bad for taxpayers and bad for the economy. HS2 is a deeply loss making project, Dr Wellings explained. As such, private companies will not get involved and it will have to be funded entirely by taxpayers.

Whilst the government have estimated the total cost to be £32billion, Dr Wellings said that we can expect billions more to be spent on linking infrastructure. This project is not about economics, it is about politics, he concluded.
