Imposing higher wages on businesses will not help low paid

Len Shackleton discusses the 'living wage' movement on Woman's Hour. He argues that increasing wages from the minimum wage to the London 'living wage' could lead to significant job losses. He further argues that most of those on minimum wage are new entrants to the labour force and artificially increasing their wages might price them out of the market.
