IEA Director General Mark Littlewood appeared on BBC Two's Daily Politics show regarding the extent of localism and planning permisson for houses. This is in relation to the Coalition's promise to give people a greater say about new housing, transport links and other property in their area. He argued that there is little financial incentive for local councils and communities to accept either commercial, infrastructural or residential housing in their area. Furthermore, Mark expressed the need to allow communities to get the benefit of such development and not just bear the costs.
