Increase in minimum wage would be counter-productive

Richard Wellings appears on BBC WM

Richar Wellings appeared on BBC Radio WM to discuss minimum wage.

Dr. Wellings argued that living costs are the root of the problem, living costs feed into benefits increases which creates the problem of people not entering jobs. De-regulation such as a liberalisation of housing planning would create lower rent and increase living standards. An increase in minimum wage would be counter-productive, there should be no minimum wage as it is shown as a reason for unemployment particularly in youth.
