NHS reforms replace one bureaucracy with another

Richard Wellings appears on BBC R4 The World This Weekend

Richard Wellings appeared on BBC Radio 4 to discuss reforms to the NHS and the welfare system.

Dr Wellings argued that although the main purpose of the NHS reforms is to increase accountability and bring about efficiency gains, we are in fact just replacing one bureaucracy with another. Dr Wellings also expressed concerns with regards to giving more power to medical professionals stating that reform should in fact go in the direction of giving patients more power.
