Pensions should not be ring-fenced

Steve Davies appears on BBC Newcastle

IEA Education Director Steve Davies discussed David Cameron's announcement of a 'triple lock' on the state pension, arguing that it was wrong for the government to choose depth over breath on the issue of spending cuts. Steve said that ring-fencing one area of government expenditure meant other departments would have to cut significantly deeper and that the current system was unsustainable for future generations.
