Steve Davies appeared on BBC Radio WM to discuss the new plans to privatise Royal Mail.
There are two main advantages to the privatisation of Royal Mail, the first is that investment in new products or machinery is made easier and cheaper. The second advantage is that with privatisation, companies are under pressure to be more innovative in how they deliver the service they are there to provide. Dr. Davies argued that in the age of mobile phones and the internet, the public are less reliant on letters, and that Royal Mail's objective should not be to create jobs but to find the most effective way of delivering post.
