Removal of empty bedroom subsidies will benefit housing population

Steve Davies talks to BBC Radio Leeds' Liz Green

Steve Davies appeared on BBC Radio Leeds with Liz Green to discuss the proposed "bedroom tax".

"It's not perfect and its not the ideal solution but it will do some good so on balance it's probably worth doing," argued Dr Davies.

The bill will only save a small proportion of the budget but will better match the housing population to the housing stock thereby addressing issues of overcrowding.

"What we really should be doing is reforming the planning laws so that we can actually build more houses and then we would not have this problem."
