Philip Booth appears on BBC News to discuss new IEA research

Retirement could be bad for health and increase the risks of depression according to a new study.

A report published by the Institute of Economic Affairs, says that while the health of men and women who give up work may initially improve, it then declines drastically compared to those still in work.

Philip Booth argued that rising health costs are one of the government's greatest problems. With people retiring earlier we are seeing less tax paid and are likely to witness a further increase in healthcare costs as well.
