The IEA has featured in an article by the Daily Mail revealing the hidden cost of stamp duty. New research has suggested that a staggering number of homeowners have been forced to sell their properties for less than they are actually worth as a result of the stamp duty thresholds. The IEA labels stamp duty as a bad tax, suggesting that its current structure should be reformed with the intention of abolishing it completely in the long run.
