The 40p tax rate threshold should have been increased

The IEA is featured in the Telegraph

The IEA's response to the Budget has featured in the Telegraph. In response to the Chancellor's 2014 Budget, the IEA argue that the government should have gone further and increased the 40p tax rate in order to reduce the large number of middle income earners being dragged into paying higher tax. This Budget has not provided the necessary measures to address the problem of fiscal drag in the UK.
