The government's plans to cap benefits are very modest

As it emerges that the government has been warned that a proposed £26,000 benefits cap might make up to 20,000 people homeless, Mark Littlewood, IEA Director General, speaks to BBC Radio 5 Live's Stephen Nolan programme and disputes such claims. In fact, he says, the government's proposals make perfect sense.

He also responds to Head of the Work Foundation, Will Hutton's, proposal that government ministers should be on performance-related pay.
