The minimum wage has not been a success

Richard Wellings argued that the minimum wage has been positively harmful, especially on youth employment. He argued there is a plethora of economic evidence that the minimum wage does cause unemployment.

Some people may want to earn less and they should have that choice. The minimum wage can have a negative effect as it prices out low productivity workers from getting jobs. Abolishing the minimum wage would allow young people to get vital experience and get their foot in the door. It is a barrier to young people getting jobs.
