Dr Steve Davies discusses whether there is any merit in the UK's first happiness and wellbeing survey.

He argues that whilst there may be merit in these surveys locally or in the workplace, they are not useful at an aggregate national level as they produce wooly findings. He also argues that the survey may lead to excessive intrusion into personal lives.
