Things which make people happy are beyond the control of governments

Professor Len Shackleton speaks to BBC Radio Wales

Professor Len Shackleton speaks to BBC Radio Wales to discuss the merit of the government's wellbeing survey. The report found Wales to be the most unhappy area of the UK.

Professor Shackleton argued that it is difficult to see what benefit the findings could have. A happy state of mind doesn't relate to things which the government can enforce. He voiced his concern that it may also lead to the government involving themselves in unnecessary areas of people's lives.
