We have to attract high earners and avoid tax exiles

IEA Education Director Dr Steve Davies spoke to BBC Radio WM about the possibility of Mo Farah becoming a tax exile. He argued that high income individuals who domicile themselves outside the UK because of high marginal tax rates are justified, and that it is our duty to be competitive to attract these individuals. In relation to Mo Farah, who does most of his work in the United States training and earns much of his money outside of the UK, he is right to try and minimise his tax burden as much as he can.
