Children's charities have warned that thousands of children in London are going hungry every day as a result of the economic climate. Many question whether spending more money on the issue is really the answer.
With average contributions to welfare and pensions in the UK at more than £8000 per household, Mark Littlewood argues that the system is not working.
"If you can't solve the poverty problem in the UK or in London with that sort of money then there is something completely wrong with the system."
