You cannot protest against the laws of economic gravity

Mark Littlewood talks to BBC Radio 4

Speaking to BBC Radio 4, Mark Littlewood responded to the austerity protests in Europe by asserting that European governments must balance the books. For far too long, governments have lived way beyond their means and the economic reality of the euro zone crisis is that austerity measures are inevitable, Littlewood argued.

Whilst it is understandable that people are distressed and have very legitimate grievances, the reality is that protestors cannot march against the law of economic gravity. Generations of politicians are to blame, but spending cuts remain the only option.
