Charles Moore: Thatcher and free markets

ieaTV caught up with Margaret Thatcher’s authorised biographer Charles Moore to discuss the former Prime Minister’s beliefs in free market economics. Moore explained that Thatcher instinctively believed in market economics, but it was only following the failure of the Heath government that she publically expounded the cause. She helped popularise the case for market economics by talking about it at a time when it was largely ignored, and by describing it in comprehensible language for the broader public.
