On the day after Budget 2014, the IEA and the Taxpayers’ Alliance co-hosted a post budget briefing with politicians and experts from across the political spectrum: Douglas Carswell MP (Conservative), Jeremy Browne MP (Lib Dem), Lord McFall (Labour), alongside the IEA’s Editorial Director Philip Booth and chaired by the TPA Chief Executive Jonathan Isaby. Each gave a broad reaction to the budget, in particular focusing on the key measures announced, including on pensions and saving, personal taxation and the announcements made on energy policy.
