Ruth Porter appeared on Political Takeout discussing Cameron and Miliband as leaders and public opinion of the two parties.
Ruth Porter stated that there is a difference in polls as to how each party and leader is viewed. For example, in a recent poll, David Cameron has appeared more popular than Ed Miliband but when asked about each party, the electorate have ranked Labour and the Conservatives very similarly. David Cameron appears to be more popular than the Conservatives whereas the Labour Party appear more popular than their leader.
Ms Porter argued that the big challenge for Ed Miliband is to convincingly set out what he stands for and why. Whereas Conservative Party backbenchers appear to be forming alliances, those in the Labour Party to do not seem to be working together to push a specific policy agenda.
