Christopher Snowdon appeared on BBC Radio Manchester to discuss fixed odds betting machines.
Mr Snowdon disagreed with a campaign trying to stop a new fixed odds betting shop opening in Manchester.
"The new form of gambling is no more addictive or seductive than traditional forms," Mr Snowdon stated.
This is more of a panic along the lines of what occured related to scratch cards, internet gambling, and the lottery.
