IEA Education Director Steve Davies appeared on Radio 4's 'The Long View'. The show compared provisions for the poor from the Speenhamland system and current day. He discussed 'the working poor' and discussed the widespread hostility between that of those poor individuals working and that on benefits. He argued that measures need to be taken to raise productivity amongst the young and unskilled. Also, he argued the need to reduce the cost of living, particularly for the poor, whos costs are rising faster than any other group in society.
