The eighteenth edition of the Heritage Foundation's popular survey of economic liberty

World economic freedom has, on average, seen a marginal decline since last year. Rapid expansion of government, more than any other factor, appears to be responsible for flagging economic dynamism.

The UK is back up to 14 in the rankings this year, having fallen out of the top 15 for the first time in last year’s survey, although its freedom score has actually seen a marginal drop. The UK ranks poorly for fiscal freedom and terribly for government spending.
